With that in mind, I decided to turn some "just having a play" Alcohol Lift backgrounds into cards and make a start on filling up the Christmas Card box.
added drops of Stream, Pistachio and Amethyst Alcohol Inks to the Yupo panel and blew through a straw to move the colour around.
I added a few drops of Blending Solution to the felt pad on a mini round blending tool and tapped lightly until I was happy with the background.
I stamped the snowflake image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Swirly Snowflakes inked with Alcohol Lift Ink on to the Yupo paper, dabbed with a paper towel to remove the excess ink, buffed with a clean cloth and then stamped on to Distress Watercolor card transferring the ink lifted from the Yupo paper. I repeated this process until I had filled the background and used the same technque with the sentiment from Tim/Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Holiday Drawings. I trimmed the panels diagonally, applied splatters of White Gesso to the Yupo paper , coloured the Distress Watercolor card panel lightly with Tumbled Glass using a mini round blending tool and added Wilted Violet splatters.
I added the panels to white cardstock leaving a space larger enough to stamp the sentiment from Holiday Drawings
I trimmed white cardstock to be slightly larger than the panels and stamped the Plaid Background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Plaid & Nordic inked with Broken China/Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch/Lucky Clover Distress Oxide inks.
I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with the same combination of Distress Oxide inks as I used for the plaid background, spritzed with water and stamped the snowflake images with Black Soot Archival ink.
I die-cut the snowflakes using the matching Sizzix Framelits, added white highlights with a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen and brads from my stash
I did a little bit of machine stitching around the edges of the panels,
added double twine bows and fixed the snowflakes in place with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam to create dimension. I matted the panels on to Classic Kraftstock and Kraft-Core Core-dinations and fixed to white card blanks.
Today I'm hoping to have a play day with the August Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp, have fun whatever you're creating.
Toodle-oo for nowHugs Kath xxx
