Autumn Leaves...

Hi folks, Autumn is definitely one of my favourite seasons, the time of year when Mother Nature shows off her amazing colour palette turning the leaves from green to all shades of brown, gold, rust and red and they are so beautiful
but I'm not as sure footed as my Furry "Coffee Table" Companion so walking on a slippery carpet of leaves can be tricky and then there's the "joys of Autumn" daily task of sweeping them up from the garden. It's one of those "painting the Forth Bridge" kind of jobs...you're no sooner finished...a little breeze comes along and you're back to square one. And with that in mind, I'm sharing an Autumn theme card made with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Skeleton Leaves Thinlits, Mini Mint Layering Stencil inspired by some of the new Distress Oxide colours.

I trimmed Distress Mixed Media Heavystock to measure 5" square and coloured with Dried Marigold, Pumice Stone and Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxides, using the familiar technique of dragging the card through the spritzed inks, drying and tapping into the remaining droplets of ink.
I applied Brushed Corduroy and Rusty Hinge through the Mint Mini Shifter Stencil from Mini Stencil Set 37 vertically and then flipped the stencil horizontally to create a plaid pattern
I die cut the leaves from white cardstock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Skeleton Leaves Thinlits and attached Idea-ology Mummy Cloth between the layers using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I die cut the word from white cardstock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Lower Cut Out Thinlits
trimmed the panel, coloured with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide ink and added some Shifter Stencil detail. I backed the word panel with card, fixed in place with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive and added Skeleton Leaves and Funky Foliage Leaves left over from a previous project.
I added Idea-ology Seasonal ChitChat and Small Talk Stickers, matted the card on to a panel of Classic Kraftstock and fixed to a 5.1/2" square white card blank.

We're more than halfway through October, these guys are still flowering their heads off,

the sun is shining and after a busy week in the cubbyhole, I'm hanging up my crafty apron and donning my lady who lunches hat for a fun day out. Have a great weekend whatever you have planned and I'll see you all on Monday with my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. You still have loads of time to join in with this week's Starry Night Challenge with a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to spend in Simon Says Stamp Online Store.
Toodle-oo for now
