AALL&Create Design Team Project - Travel Journal

Hi folks, I'm sharing this week's Design Team project for AALL&Create which is a travel journal decorated with Tropical Vibes #141 designed by Bipasha BK and English Postcard #111 designed by Olga Heldwein and Stencils #21 and #42 designed by Aida Domisiewicz and Autour DeMwa.

and I'll let you into a little secret. I think I'm a bit of a gypsy at heart because I've always had a hankering to pack a few essentials and hit the open road, no planned route, just tootling along, taking in the view and stopping when the mood takes me and what cooler mode of transport than a camper van and a red one at that. Anyone fancy joining me?

So let's get started. I trimmed two pieces of matboard to measure 8" square and covered with Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements fabric, I think from the Correspondence collection, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I mitred the corners, folded over to the reverse and covered with white cardstock trimmed to 7.3/4" square.

I applied a light coat of White Gesso to the covers leaving a border of the fabric showing around the edge.

I inked the whole English Postcard A4 stamp and the Camper Van image from Tropical Vibes with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and stamped on to Ideaology Plain Collage Paper.

I flipped the paper over and painted the images from behind with Distress Paints

I drew around each of the images with a wet brush, teased the paper apart with my fingers, brushed Distress Collage Medium Matte on to the cover, placed the images down and brushed over them to fix them in place.

I added the left over images to the inside of the front cover.

I applied Distress Grit Paste through Stencil #42 Travelers' Notes and Stencil 21,

and added Tim Holtz Idea-ology Design Tape Chatter

.I inked the wording on the camper van section with Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamped on to a scrap of white card, fussy cut and fixed over the original. I used my Cinch to bind the journal and I'm all set for that camper van adventure.
